Our Process

By following our iterative and ongoing process, we help you fulfill your fiduciary responsibility as the plan sponsor.

  • Understand your unique needs as the plan sponsor: Every business is different. Whether you’re looking to establish a new plan or improve an existing you, we’ll help you assess and understand your unique needs and wants.

    Review current vendor relationships and value provided: Building an effective retirement plan takes a team of experts, but not all are created the same. We can help you figure out whether or not you’re getting the most bang for your buck.

    Compare plan design to best practices to discover blind spots: When it comes to retirement plans covered by ERISA, it’s best to ensure you’re doing things right. We’ll help you uncover blind spots to ensure plan compliance with DOL and IRS regulations.

    Analyze investment fund menu: Many existing plans provide investment options that haven’t been properly assessed since plan inception. We’ll help you provide solid fund options that will help plan participants reach their retirement savings goals.

  • Establish advisory roles and responsibilities: We’ll build an advisory relationship that best fits what you need with clearly defined expectations from plan sponsors, vendors, and advisors.

    Analyze fiduciary liability risk: We’ll ensure we identify any liability risks within your plan to minimize your legal exposure maximize the plan’s effectiveness for plan participants.

  • Execute approved plan recommendations: We’ll help you institute any recommended plan updates or services.

    Begin employee education on plan design changes and investment menu: We’ll set up an ongoing schedule for financial and retirement plan education workshops/classes for plan participants.

    Install fiduciary best practices: We’ll begin conducting scheduled meetings, updates, and analysis to help keep your plan in compliance.

    Establish communication plan: We’ll decide on the style and frequency of communication between us as the advisor and you as the plan.

  • Ongoing plan monitoring: Nobody likes to be surprised by the unexpected. We’ll regularly monitor your plan in accordance with plan requirements and keep you in the loop.

    Regular employee education on plan and other personal finance topics: After initial classes/workshops on the plan, we’ll be able to offer classes on general personal finance topics that you can pick from our menu of options.

    Coordination with plan recordkeeper, custodian, and/or independent administrator: We can help you bridge the gap between different service providers to ensure your plan continues to have a cohesive structure moving forward.

    Periodic benchmark & analysis of vendors as required: We can help you periodically review the plan and its investment options to ensure you’re fulfilling your fiduciary duty as plan sponsor.
